Lockout Discipline Procedures
If a student is locked out, they will get their name written down and then a pass to class. The following system will be put in place regarding the number of lockouts students get.
We will begin using the following system:
4 Lockouts = Detention
8 Lockouts = Detention
12 Lockouts = ISS
After 12 lockouts, it will restart. Every quarter we will reset the numbers back to zero.
Any questions please contact Mr. Hardman ([email protected])
11/8/19 - Cooking/Baking Pop-Up Club - All of the spots for the first cooking/baking Pop-Up Club have been filled. However, we are still collecting the permission slips and keeping track of who is interested. If we are able to offer another cooking/baking club, those students will have priority. We are still encouraging students to turn in the forms so we know who has interest in what topics and we can will try our best to make those accomodations.
11/7/19 - Tardy Policy -
Starting Friday 11/8, Jefferson will be implementing a new tardy policy. This policy was communicated to students during town hall meetings this week. When the tardy bell rings for each class period, classroom doors will be shut and any student not in class will report to the Bulldog Den. Those students will be given a writing assignment and this assignment must be completed as their "ticket" back to class. The assignment will have the student address why they were late and what they can do in order to be on time in the future. Once the assignment is completed they will be released back to class and be marked "tardy" in attendance. Every class period that a student is late, they will report to the Bulldog Den and complete the same assignment.
Our administration is doing this to help our students recognize the importance of getting to class on time and making the most of the instructional time they have. We need our students to be learning the entire 41 minutes that they are in class and tardiness is a deterrent to this, for both the tardy student and those in class who were on time.
If a student has an emergency or a medical reason they need to use the bathroom, they should first talk to their teacher to get a pass. Exceptions for those with IEP or 504 accommodations will be handled appropriately.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact the school office. 574-393-4100
